Georgia: 2nd Phase of Grant Competition to Fund Projects

The European Union (EU)-supported Akhmeta Local Development Group (LAG) is announcing the second phase of a grant competition to fund projects that will contribute to the local development of the municipality.

In partnership with Action Against Hunger, the Kakheti Regional Development Fund (KRDF) supports the Akhmeta LAG in Akhmeta, a project supported by the European Neighborhood Program for Rural and Agricultural Development (ENPARD) within the framework of the Akhmet Municipality Promotion of Inclusive and Participatory Local Development.

The purpose of the grant competition is to support the implementation of the Akhmeta LAG Local Development Strategy goal of “Improving the quality of life and economic development in Akhmeta Municipality”.

Goal

This US-based Foundation will fund small organizations that provide social assistance all around the world. Deadline to apply: 30 Sep 2021

NGO Grants to promote and protect Child Rights. Deadline to apply: 15 Aug 2021

Funding for Projects promoting Youth Mental Health & Wellness (Select Countries). Deadline to apply: 11 Aug 2021

Support for Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Projects (Europe). Deadline to apply: 30 Nov 2021

The main goal of the program is to improve the socio-economic situation of Georgia’s vulnerable villages and reduce poverty.
Priorities

To achieve this goal, the Local Development Group (LAG) has identified three priorities:

Improving public infrastructure and the environment through cooperation with the public, private and civil sectors
Development of local economy by promoting self-sufficiency in agriculture, business and tourism sectors
Strengthen the social sector by improving social infrastructure and citizen involvement

Strengthen the social sector by improving social infrastructure and citizen involvement
Stationary and Mobile Social provision of services for vulnerable populations: Min. Amount: 3,000, Max. Amount: 8,000 and Budget: 16,000
Social enterprises and support: Min. Amount: 3,000, Max. Amount: 8,000 and Budget: 16,000
Eligibility Criteria

You can apply for a grant:
Citizens of Georgia (18 years and older)
Legal entities (businesses) registered in Georgia (applicant can apply on behalf of a business with no legal status, however grant before receiving funding, it must be registered)
Non-governmental organizations
Legal Entities of Public Law of Akhmeta Municipality (LEPL)
Informal community groups
Project submitted by the applicant:
Must be implemented in Akhmeta Municipality.
Must comply with Akhmeta LAG strategy and meet the strategy even One of the activities.
Fit within the allowed grant amounts
Have the required co-financing.
