Technical Component of ERDA

Component 1: To achieve Sub-Purpose 1, the ERDA will enhance agriculture sector capacity by strengthening agriculture production resources, and modernize the sector by improving the productivity of market-oriented and nutrient rich crops and livestock. The interventions under the component will seek to improve the resilience of the local population by strengthening the natural resource base, mainly land and water, to expand capacity for higher production in the focused areas.
Component 2: To achieve Sub-Purpose 2, ERDA will strengthen MSEs in both farm and non-farm sectors through a holistic set of interventions. The activity will leverage ongoing and planned public sector interventions under the GoKP Accelerated Implementation Plan (AIP) to enhance businesses access to productive resources and support establishment of MSEs in potential sectors, including agribusinesses, mining, trade, and processing.
Component 3: To achieve Sub-Purpose 3, ERDA will engage with private sector entities and partner with the GoKP to remove barriers to private sector investments. ERDA will focus on activities that promote private sector investments in the region. ERDA will build on the USAID FATA Economic Revitalization and Small Medium Enterprise Activity (SMEA) interventions and will promote public-private dialogue to improve the business enabling environment in the region.
