Opportunity A key and well-established channel within the sales team in South Africa is looking for a dynamic and proactive Sales Representative.
A strong focus on selling value added services as well as managing current account relationships within the portfolio, however with a large focus on seeking and acquiring new business and accounts which will require you to quickly build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.This is a pivotal commercial position within the sales team reporting into the Expertise & Ambition Sales Manager, where the successful candidate will be jointly responsible for delivering the Maersk Strategic Priorities as we expand our footprint beyond Ocean.
As Sales Representative will be responsible for the commercial and financial development of a portfolio of clients focusing on logistics and services solutions and partnership to achieve long term success.
Position can be based in any of the cities below: Cape Town/Johannesburg/Durban
We offer -The opportunity to develop your professional skills in a truly global organization through a great cross functional working environment with good terms of employment.Key responsibilities-Delivering volume and yield targets while remaining focused on relationship building.-Accountable for delivery of Additional Business and contract renewal targets for the assigned customer portfolio.-Developing customer relationships with decision makers on all levels.-Accountable for a seamless and timely transition of customer management from the Commercial team to our Customer Experience Teams.-Supporting the resolution of Commercial and Operational reported customer issues, including interventions with customers to resolve escalated issues.-Ensuring high customer satisfaction and an excellent customer experience. Co-creation of value propositions and local differentiators on Ocean and Logistics & Services together with the Commercial Cluster and HQ team.-Negotiating contracts with clients and meeting established deadlines for the fulfillment of each client’s long-term goals.
We are looking for -A Bachelor’s degree (ideally) with at least 3 years’ work experience in a commercial role within the containerized freight industry.-Customer centric self-starter who has a value adding business mind-set and a strong business acumen.-Proficiency in persuasive End to End selling.-Driven, Enthusiastic team player with strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.-Ability to be both persuasive and influential.-Results driven and capable of working under pressure while keeping sight of the bigger picture and End to End business processes.-Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry sales related tools.
