APM Terminals operates one of the world’s most comprehensive port and integrated inland service networks and continues investing in new business opportunities as well as upgrading current facilities. Project Execution (PE) is the function responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for project implementations, governance and standards to be used in the APM Terminals wide organization and is directly responsible for large CAPEX driven projects including greenfields, major expansion as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing facilities.We will soon kick off significant capital expansion project at our existing operation in Tangier, Morocco. The goal of the project is to both grow the existing container terminal business for APM Terminals TM2 as well as expand the business value and proposition for entire West Med. We are looking for project leader who will set-up, drive and lead the project that will construct and open the additional container terminal facilities in Tangier, Morocco.

Key responsibilities • Establish, lead and direct an engaged project team of relevant expert functions with regards to project management and infrastructure development.• Define, develop and execute strategies & plans for the TM2 Phase 2 Project including implementation approach, contracting strategies, budgets and timelines.• Ensure the project is executed and delivered on its primary objectives based on time, budget and scope/specifications.• Provide direction and leadership to the project team. Promote Maersk culture, build and maintain high engagement, be a role model of Maersk culture and leadership.• Ensure project teams are always in close collaboration and alignment with the existing terminal organization teams to deliver the project and minimize disruption to existing operations. Ensure project and terminal is always aligned and work as one big team, collaboration is key to success!• Continuously through the project, optimise project scope, timeline and budget to deliver on or before the commercial business case.• Together with the internal teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers drive regular review of statuses of the project timelines, construction progress, safety.• Select, negotiate & enter into binding agreements with suppliers & contractors and be accountable for execution & maintenance of service levels as agreed.• Ensure that the project controls are fully implemented.• Ensure that the terminal is fully operational and ready to Go Live as per the agreed project schedule.• In close coordination with the existing business in TM2 prepare the organization for the integration of the new phase• Establish and drive a safety culture among own organisation and with contractors.
We are looking for • Experience in managing large and complex infrastructure, construction, other heavy Capex type of projects (> €100 million), preferably in the transport and logistics sector, with clear responsibility on achieving safety, time and budget targets.• Experience in an international assignment at a senior leadership level.• Requires excellent leadership skills, including planning, organizing, and directing work.• Role model for collaboration, cooperation and teamwork combined with effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.• Requires exceptional time management, due to fast-moving, demanding work environment.• Able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with the ability to understand the effect of decisions on people and the company.• Advanced verbal and written communications skills in English.
