Cloud Engineer is an IT professional responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud computing, including design, planning, management, maintenance and support , Companies that hire cloud engineers are often looking to deploy cloud services or further their cloud understanding and technology.
As an Engineer you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to build and support Cloud platform. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent their department on complex assignments. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate internal teams business and technical needs to determine and provide high quality cloud solutions that align with customer expectations.
As a Cloud Senior/Engineer, on the x86 Virtual Compute team, you will be responsible for incident management and mitigation while streamlining day-to-day operational tasks through the use of scripting and automation techniques. You will support the Internal Private Cloud virtual infrastructure and service catalogs, and perform continuous improvements to the virtual infrastructure while working with other senior level staff. You will provide incident and problem resolution for complex issues, perform disaster recovery exercises, and work closely with team members to enhance internal private cloud.
Bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
Must be presently authorized to work in Egypt without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
4 years of related experience
1 year of experience administering VMware vSphere 6.x infrastructure using VMware provided tools
2 year of experience administering Windows and/or Linux related infrastructure
3 year of experience administering VMware environments using PowerCLI
3 year experience in VMware vRealize Automation, Orchestration, Operations and log insight products.
1-2 years’ experience building Containers (Kubernetes/Docker)
Must have a core experience in 3rd party applications automation tools on VMware Cloud platform
Must be able to work an on-call rotation, for incident response and maintenance activities or with-in the agreed schedule.
Must be interested in exploring new technologies, and have a desire to push your skillset outside of your comfort zone
Must be able to prioritize projects and tasks while adhering to the overall Information Technology standards
Must be capable of leading mid-small scale projects and related meeting and discussions such as support case reviews or project team meetings. Creating and following related project and action plans.
Demonstrated customer service support ethic and focus to deliver the highest, most consistent level of customer service to our business partners
Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle, including use of formal requirement documentation, testing methodologies, implementation strategies, and troubleshooting techniques
Experience operating in an Agile development environment
Experience working in large data center deployments
1+ years of experience with VMware value-add products such as vSAN, and NSX/NXS-T is a plus
1+ years of experience design/deploy OpenStack based cloud systems based on Red hat product line such as RH OpenStack, CloudForms and OpenShift.
Hands on experience working with Dell/HP traditional Blade Systems.
Hands on experience working with hyper converged technologies and supporting components like Dell-EMC VxRail/VxRack, Cisco HyperFlex……etc.
VMware VCP-CMA/VCP-DCV certification(s)
Able to work for extended hours should needs arise
Able to provide support in a 24×7 production environment
Provide on-call support either on site or work from home on a rotating schedule
Able to communicate effectively to senior team members and other teams
