For every child, hope Sudan, surrounded by the Central African Republic, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Libya and South Sudan, positioned next to East, West, South and North Africa, is surrounded by complex conflicts in an unpredictable, volatile and rapidly evolving region. Sudan is by size the third biggest country in Africa, with a diverse population of around 42 million people. Sudan’s children make up half of the total population, and the past two decades have seen their lives significantly improve: fewer girls and boys are dying before their fifth birthday, primary school attendance is increasing, immunization coverage is high and the country remains polio free. Still, millions of children continue to suffer from protracted conflict in Darfur, the Kordofan’s, and Blue Nile, from seasonal natural disasters, malnutrition and disease outbreaks, and from under-investment in basic social services. More than three million of Sudan’s school aged children are not in the classroom. UNICEF has been in Sudan since 1952 and continues with a presence in 12 of Sudan’s 18 states.
How can you make a difference?
Summary of key functions/accountabilities: Supervise the motor pool and arrange for the daily dispatch of the senior drivers and drivers on their daily assignments. Follow-up with the WFP Humanitarian Hub for registering the UNICEF trips.
Ensure that the senior drivers and drivers are up to date with their perfomance management reports.Arrange for the periodic maintenance and ad-hoc maintenance of the office vehicles in Khartoum and assist and arrange for the periodic maintenance and ad-hoc maintenance of the field office vehicles.Arrange and follow-up on the stock of fast-moving spare parts in collaboration with Supply Unit. Issue spare parts as required.Check and ensure that Khartoum vehicles’ logbooks are up to date and correctly filled.Supervise UNICEF fuel depot and issue fuel coupons for the Khartoum vehicles and field office vehicles on mission to Khartoum.Arrange and prepare vehicles for field trips and maintain rosters for drivers for the field trips.Supervise and administer senior drivers and drivers leave plan and overtime requests accordingly.Please use the link below to access the full terms of reference.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Completion of secondary education
, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization.
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience is required in the field of transportation.Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
